As Valentine’s Day approaches there are some great options to chose from right here in Bellevue, like a romantic dinner, movies, and scrumptious desserts. Start practicing the poetry for the greeting cards and don’t forget to spell check!
Flowers are a must; chocolates for love and of course a meal to make it bright!
This was a feature story about Mycakes in Snoqualmie that has amazing desserts I’ve ever tasted.
MyCakes is one of those treasures you find by happy accident or hear about. Tucked away in a small shop at the Ridge in Snoqualmie, once people taste the goodness, they are willing to travel for another sugary fix. And another.
One look at Yelp and it’s obvious that the sweet secret is spreading like creamy frosting.
Cynthia Golpe, owner of MyCakes, was raised in the Philippines where her family has had a bakery for more than 40 years. “I practically grew up (there). I helped in the operation side of things such as decorating, making cake boxes, gum paste flowers or little things from shaving coconuts and so on. It has always been my life.”
This was a story we filmed in the summer of 2014 where I walked the viewer through Bellevue’s two farmer’s markets that go on throughout the year, in two separate locations.
